dc.description.abstract | Este estudio tuvo por objetivo describir el manejo del estrés académico en estudiantes de enfermería del sexto semestre (período 2- 2019) de la Universidad Católica de Oriente en época de exámenes parciales y finales. Se pretendió caracterizar sociodemográficamente a los estudiantes, determinar los estresores que influyen en ellos y quienes son más susceptibles a sufrir de estrés académico; además se identificaron las estrategias de afrontamiento implementadas por los estudiantes y las percepciones que tienen frente a cambios fisiológicos y conductuales. La metodología fue orientada bajo un estudio de tipo mixto predominando el enfoque cualitativo, bajo el paradigma histórico hermenéutico y como estrategia metodológica se acudió a la fenomenología; dentro de las técnicas de recolección de información se destacan la encuesta sociodemográfica y la entrevista en profundidad. Como resultados, se obtiene que los estresores académicos encontrados en esta población fueron: la acumulación de trabajos, el tiempo insuficiente para entregar los mismos y el desarrollo de las prácticas clínicas. Asimismo, los estudiantes más susceptibles al estrés académico se ubican en edades comprendidas entre los 19 y 23 años, incluyendo aquellos participantes que tenían vida laboral activa, quienes vivían lejos de la Universidad y los que tenían conformada una familia con hijos. Dentro de los principales cambios se encontraron: mal genio, depresión, cefalea y aislamiento. Finalmente, algunas de las estrategias utilizadas para el manejo del estrés académico eran: pausas activas, hacer deporte y relajarse. | spa |
dc.description.abstracteng | The objective of this study was to describe the management of academic stress in sixth semester nursing students (period 2- 2019) of the Universidad Católica de Oriente during midterm and final exams. It was intended to characterize sociodemographically the students, determine the stressors that influence them and who are more susceptible to suffer from academic stress; in addition, the coping strategies implemented by the students and the perceptions they have in front of physiological and behavioral changes were identified. The methodology was oriented under a mixed type study, predominantly qualitative approach, under the historical hermeneutic paradigm and phenomenology was used as a methodological strategy; within the data collection techniques, the sociodemographic survey and the in-depth interview stand out. As results, the academic stressors found in this population were: the accumulation of assignments, insufficient time to deliver them and the development of clinical practices.
