| es_ES |
dc.description.abstractenglish | This article reflects on the role of the nursing professional in the PHC strategy, as well as the strengthening of the nursing role and direct care, the recognition of the nursing staff and the clear definition of roles in the multidisciplinary team as challenges in primary care. Primary Health Care (PHC) is an intersectoral coordination strategy that seeks to guarantee the well-being of the population through comprehensive, integrated and continuous care, with a focus on promoting health and preventing disease. Likewise, actions are carried out that impact the social determinants of health, promote self-care and allow the active participation of the community. The nursing professional provides care to the individual, the family and the community through the promotion of a safe environment and self-care. From the nursing training, there is a preventive approach, scientific knowledge and skills for management, education and health research are acquired. Therefore, in PHC, it is part of a multidisciplinary group where it manages care: it values, prioritizes, plans and evaluates interventions, based on holistic observation. Likewise, health education is recognized as a fundamental tool in nursing care, allowing the population to acquire healthy behaviors that impact their health. | es_ES |
