dc.description.abstractLa presente investigación tuvo por objetivo describir las características sociodemográficas de un grupo de mujeres que se encontraban en periodo de lactancia materna exclusiva en el municipio de Rionegro, Antioquia durante el año 2020. Se caracterizó sociodemográficamente a las 310 mujeres objeto de estudio, identificando condiciones relacionadas con zona de residencia, estrato socioeconómico, nivel de escolaridad, estado civil, ocupación, tipología familiar y número de hijos. Metodología: se basó en un enfoque cuantitativo de tipo descriptivo, transversal; se utilizó como técnica la encuesta sociodemográfica, dirigida a las mujeres que se encontraban en periodo de lactancia materna exclusiva entre los 0 y 12 meses de nacimiento del lactante, residentes de la zona rural y urbana del municipio de Rionegro. Inicialmente fueron contactadas vía telefónica, para posteriormente ejecutar una visita domiciliaria, pero debido a la pandemia del covid-19, únicamente se siguieron contactando por vía telefónica para la realización de la encuesta. Cabe resaltar que este estudio hace parte de una investigación principal, cuyo objetivo era determinar los factores relacionados con la duración de la lactancia en un grupo de madres con niños hasta el año, residentes en el municipio de Rionegro, Antioquia en el periodo comprendido entre septiembre de 2018 y septiembre de 2019. Resultados: Se halló que, la mayoría de las mujeres en periodo de lactancia materna representaban un 52% en edades comprendidas entre los 26 y 35, de las cuales un 98.7% eran de nacionalidad colombiana y el 1,3 % restante de nacionalidad venezolana. Por otra parte, las mujeres que habitaban en la zona urbana representaron un 70,3%, siendo este porcentaje el más alto en cuanto a la zona de residencia. Entre estas mujeres se encontró que el estado civil más común fue unión libre con un 43,90%, seguido de las madres casadas con un 38,40% y se identificó una menor proporción de madres solteras y separadas con porcentajes de 16,10% y 1,60% respectivamente. Se encontró que el 37,4% de las madres participantes terminaron el bachillerato, seguido de un 35,8% las cuales terminaron el nivel técnico. Además, de las 310 encuestadas, 147 eran amas de casa. Por otra parte, se pudo identificar que el 86% se encontraron en estratos dos y tres, representado así el porcentaje más alto en cuanto a los estratos socioeconómicos. En relación con la tipología familiar se identificó que 229 mujeres pertenecían a una familia nuclear, 62 era tipo extensa y 19 mujeres eran de tipología mononuclear. Se halló que, en la familia de composición nuclear, la principal red de apoyo fue el esposo en un 92%, seguido de la madre con un 59%. También, en cuanto al número de hijos la mayoría de las mujeres lactantes encuestadas eran madres por primera vez evidenciándose con un 57% de la población estudiada.es_ES
dc.description.abstractenglishThe present research aimed to describe the sociodemographic characteristics of a women group who were in an exclusive breastfeeding period in the municipality of Rionegro, Antioquia during the year 2020. The 310 women under study were characterized sociodemographically, identifying conditions related to the residence area, socioeconomic stratum, academic level, marital status, occupation, family typology, and children number. Methodology: it was based on a quantitative focusing, kind descriptive cross-sectional; The sociodemographic survey was used as a technique, aimed at women who were in an exclusive breastfeeding period in the municipality of Rionegro between 0 and 12 months of nursling birth, rural area and urban area residents of the municipality of Rionegro. Initially, they were contacted by telephone, to later carried out a home visit, but due to the covid-19 pandemic, they only continued to contacting by telephone to carry out the survey. It should be noted that, this study is part of a main investigation, which objective is to determine the factors related to the breastfeeding duration in a mothers and children group until the year, residents at the municipality of Rionegro, Antioquia in a period between September 2018 and September 2019. Results: It was found that the majority of the breastfeeding period women represented 52% between the ages of 26 and 35, of which 98.7% are Colombian nationality and the remaining 1.3% are Venezuelan nationality. Moreover, women living in urban areas represented 70.3%, being the highest percentage in terms of the residence area. Among these women it was found that the most common marital status was free union with a 43.90%, followed by married mothers with 38.40% and, a lower proportion of single and separated mothers with percentages of 16.10% and 1.60% respectively. It was found that 37.4% of the participating mothers finished high school, followed by 35.8% who finished the technical level. Furthermore, from the 310 respondents, 147 were housewives. Moreover, it was possible to identify that 86% were found in strata 2 and 3, thus representing the highest percentage in socioeconomic strata terms. In relation to the family typology, it was identified 229 women belonged to a nuclear family, 62 were extended type and 19 women were mononuclear type. It was found that, in the nuclear composition family, the main net support was the husband in 92%, followed by the mother in a 59%. Also, in terms of the children number, most of the lactating women surveyed were mothers for the first time, evidenced by 57% of the studied population.es_ES
