dc.description.abstractLa presente investigación busca comprender las representaciones sobre salud y enfermedad mental en practicantes de psicología de la Universidad Católica de Oriente, con el fin de describir la experiencia y los afectos, identificar impresiones asociadas y relacionar las representaciones con las actitudes de los estudiantes en práctica profesional, teniendo en cuenta que “las nociones de salud y enfermedad mental son construcciones sociales complejas, que han cambiado bajo la influencia de condiciones históricas particulares”. (Gómez, 2018, p.1). La metodología utilizada fue mediante el enfoque cualitativo, inscrito en un paradigma constructivista a partir del diseño fenomenológico-hermenéutico, orientado a estudiar las realidades desde el marco de referencia interno del sujeto que las vive y experimenta. Como resultados y conclusiones se obtuvo que los participantes relacionan la enfermedad mental con angustia, miedo, tristeza y frustración; donde prevalecen representaciones que indican vulnerabilidad, desconfianza y rechazo, así mismo los conceptos de salud y enfermedad mental propuestos por los estudiantes carecen de elementos de orden subjetivo y se polarizan cuando se nombra la salud como un conjunto de capacidades y la enfermedad como un cúmulo de alteraciones que disminuyen la funcionalidad del ser humano; finalmente confirman que el pronóstico del paciente se puede ver afectado por la actitud del profesional.spa
dc.description.abstractenglishThe present research seeks to understand the representations about health and mental illness in psychology interns of the Universidad Católica de Oriente, in order to describe the experience and affects, identify associated impressions and relate the representations with the attitudes of students in professional practice, taking into account that "the notions of health and mental illness are complex social constructions, which have changed under the influence of particular historical conditions". (Gómez, 2018, p.1). The methodology used was through the qualitative approach of constructivist paradigm from a design phenomenological-hermeneutical directed to study the realities from the internal frame of reference of the subject who lives and experiences them. As results and conclusions it was obtained that the participants relate mental illness with anguish, fear, sadness and frustration; where representations that indicate vulnerability, distrust and rejection prevail, likewise the concepts of health and mental illness proposed by the students, lack elements of subjective order and are polarized when health is named as a set of capacities and illness as an accumulation of alterations that diminish the functionality of the human being, finally confirming that the patient's prognosis can be affected by the attitude of the professional.spa
