| dc.description.abstract | El propósito de este trabajo es identificar las situaciones particulares en las que el español toma lugar en clases de EFL con estudiantes y maestros de quinto nivel en una universidad privada ubicada en El municipio de Rionegro, Antioquia. Este artículo integra un método de investigación cualitativa. y se concentra principalmente en la sistematización de experiencias de los participantes seleccionados. Los métodos de recolección de datos incluyeron entrevistas, cuestionarios y no participantes. observaciones que fueron desarrolladas para explorar las opiniones de estudiantes y maestros y percepciones sobre las limitaciones y la aceptación del uso de su lengua materna dentro de Clases de inglés. Los hallazgos presentados en este documento sugieren que la mayoría de los participantes creen que El uso de la lengua materna (español) desempeña un papel de apoyo durante el proceso de aprendizaje de lengua extranjera (inglés) y se convierte en un facilitador en el aula para los estudiantes en el momento de resolver dudas, expresar sentimientos u opiniones y traducir complejos vocabulario, y para profesores al aclarar las actividades realizadas en clase y mejorar el relación profesor-alumno. Estas parecen ser las situaciones más comunes en las que los españoles el idioma ocurre. | es_ES |

The data collection methods involved interviews, questionnaires, and non-participant observations which were developed to explore students and teachers’ opinions and perceptions about the constraints and acceptance of the use of their mother tongue within English classes. The findings presented in this paper suggests that most of the participants believe that the use of the mother tongue (Spanish) plays a supporting role during the process of learning a foreign language (English) and becomes a facilitator in the classroom for students at the moment of solving doubts, expressing feelings or opinions, and translating complex vocabulary, and for teachers when clarifying the activities performed in class and improve the relation teacher-student.
