| es_ES |

dc.description.abstractenglish | Obesity has become a public health problem over the years since the figures for this condition increase more and more without discriminating sex, age and socioeconomic status, it is important to consider that it brings with it other pathologies that negatively affect the prognosis of this, such as diabetes, cardiovascular disease, cancer, dyslipidemia, coronary heart disease, stroke, apnea, respiratory problems, among others. The objective of this article is to collect and capture research information on the preventive and curative effect of foods with the highest source of flavonoids; especially anthocyanins, to start treating obesity in a therapeutic way through a balanced, varied and healthy diet, it is for this reason that this work was carried out with the search for information in bibliographic databases such as PubMed, Science Direct, Clinica Kley, Scielo, FAO and OMS, and with articles that were in a range of publication years between 2015 and 2020. Flavonoids are considered phytochemicals that are found as aglycons or glycosides in a variety of fruits and vegetables, among which are anthocyanins, which are one of the most important natural plant pigments for health promotion and are widely found in various vegetables and fruits, including berries such as blueberries, strawberries, blackberries, grapes, currants, plums, cherries, red cabbage, red onions, among others, it is important to highlight that the general effect of anthocyanins will always depend on the food source, preparation and preservation , metabolism and absorption, taking into account that these usually form new metabolites through the intestinal microbiota, so that after consumption beneficial bacteria appear, which help regulate lipid metabolism, thus attenuating the inflammatory process and stress oxidative in obese. This bioavailability will always be necessary to determine the biological way in which anthocyanins act to prevent and treat obesity effectively, thus confirming that a diet rich in anthocyanins, accompanied by physical activity, may be the perfect solution to prevent and treat obesity in a totally healthy and safe way. | es_ES |
