| es_ES |

dc.description.abstractenglish | Currently, there is an accelerated growth of the older adult population, which implies, moreover, a greater number of gerontological services required, in this sense, the immediate needs are matched by generating promotión and preventión processes. Type II Diabetes Mellitus is a disease that, despite its rapid growth, currently has no definitive cure, hence the person suffering from it must apply the treatment permanently. In this sense, the purpose of this research was to document the psychosocial factors that influence the adherence to treatment of patients with Type II Diabetes Mellitus, through a quantitative methodology that includes a documentary review. The main research findings show that in most patient’s adherence to treatment is really poor, due to the fact that different factors that affect it, such as ignorance of the conditions of the disease, the relevance of the treatment, and including the same sports practice and healthy eating. In conclusion, it is found that there are different factors that tend to affect adherence to IMDI treatment, however, the most relevant of them is the one that corresponds to the adequate provisión of informatión and the accompaniment of the family and social group in the process. | es_ES |
