| spa |

dc.description.abstractenglish | This article addresses the question of whether the school can be considered a protective environment for suicide prevention, specifically focusing on the Educational Institution Vida para Todos in Medellín, Antioquia. The research aims to propose psychopedagogical elements that contribute to the prevention of suicide in eighth and ninth-grade adolescent students. To achieve this purpose, four specific objectives have been established: identify situations leading to suicidal behaviors, describe the role of teachers as facilitators of the protective environment, characterize the forms of interaction among students, and design strategies to promote said protective environment. The adopted methodology follows a qualitative approach, using ethnographic interviews, participant observation, and life history as data collection instruments. These methods allow for a profound understanding of the experiences and perspectives of teachers and students, linking their voices to the selected theory and the interpretation of the researchers. Preliminary results suggest emerging categories that reveal the complexity of the participants' experiences and their relationship with the theory. In summary, this study aims not only to provide academic education but also to create an inclusive and supportive school environment that promotes the mental health and well-being of students, especially during the delicate stage of adolescence where suicidal tendencies may arise. | spa |
