| spa |

dc.description.abstractenglish | The Eucalyptus genus is a foliage of export importance within ornamental cuttings in Colombia, with a potential market for more than 35 importing countries. However, they have submitted several phytosanitary interceptions by the United States Department of Agriculture, under the Animal and Plant Inspection Service, which report various spots and lesions on stems and leaves in E. parvifolia, common symptoms caused by multiple pathogens in Eucalyptus crops around the world. For this, from the plant material of E. parvifolia affected in the field, with cankers and leaf spots, isolates were made in nutritive culture medium of a fungus identified from its reproductive structures, being of the genus Pestalotiopsis in the health laboratory plant of the Universidad Catolica de Oriente, and confirmed by molecular testing by the sequencing of its ITS region, such as Pestalotiopsis mangiferae by Macrogen Korea. A pathogenicity test was performed by inoculating in healthy plants by spraying, puncturing and scraping, an inoculum in concentration of 100 (Control), 105, 106 and 107 conidia / ml. Resulting with symptoms in all treatments except for control. Of the diseased plants, the pathogen was re-isolated and identified, confirming the diagnosis and following the methodology proposed by Koch (1876) for Pestalotiopsis sp. as a causative agent of leaf spot and cortical laceration in E. parvifolia. | spa |
