| dc.description.abstractenglish | It is essential to recognize the importance of managing inventory management within the company Altos de la Mira S.A.S, taking into account that it seeks to constantly strengthen at a competitive level, for which they use new strategies and tools that lead to new strategic plans, recognizing that they are in an increasingly demanding market. Therefore, it is essential to adapt to the needs of its consumers, recognizing that inventory control plays an important role at a competitive level within the organization, in this sense, in the company Altos de la Mira S.A.S difficulties are evident in terms of to inventory control, in this way, one of the main causes that cause poor inventory management is the little relevance given to the entry and exit of raw materials and finished products, which generates higher costs which entail to the decline of the economy. The purpose of this project is to implement a strategy to mitigate failures in inventory management in the company. For this reason, it is proposed to apply an inventory management model called PEPS, which consists of first in, first out, this contributes to improving production executions avoiding waste, loss of time and bottlenecks, Likewise, it helps to classify the products stored in the different warehouses according to their rotation, measures and dimensions, establishing a correct inventory management in a permanent and efficient way through a correct storage, counting and registration, helping the company to have a greater competitive level within the market supplying customer demand. To achieve the above, a diagnosis was made, where initially a characterization of the production process and the inventories involved in it is made, to complement the identification of inventory control faults. This diagnosis was used as input for the design of an inventory management model for the Altos de la Mira S.A.S floriculture company located in Rionegro Antioquia, in the Pontezuela sector.
