Fruits and vegetables have become essential components for a healthy life, according to the World Health Organization (WHO, 2019), not consuming them is related to poor health and a higher risk of contracting cardiovascular diseases, which according According to the Global State of Health report published by the WHO in April 2011, they are the cause of most deaths in the world. Chronic non-communicable diseases (NCDs), which are cardiovascular and respiratory diseases, types of cancer and diabetes, are responsible for approximately 36 million of the total deaths worldwide (Gómez, 2011), contracting this type of disease, is largely due to low consumption of fruits and vegetables. Regarding the situation of the countries of Latin America, this problem is still very present, because according to the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean, (FAO & ECLAC, 2020): Latin America and the Caribbean have coexisted in recent times with alarming figures of malnutrition due to overweight, obesity and malnutrition. The effects of COVID-19 have manifested themselves in food consumption in various ways. One of them, the increase in the consumption of hypercaloric products (fried foods, desserts), canned, packaged and less perishable. (p.1) The above evidences a low consumption of fruits in Latin America and according to the study carried out by FAO and ECLAC (2020) (FAO & ECLAC, 2020), changes in consumption habits have been evidenced, since the majority of Latin Americans they opt for less nutritious, less fresh and cheaper diets (p.1). In relation to the above, Colombia is a country that has many wild fruit trees, that is, they are born in the forests and require little care, these products most of the time are not used and one of the reasons is that people do not know them, among these trees is the agraz or also known as mortiño and is scientifically described as a food that has substances that protect cells and in turn acts as an antioxidant in the body (Barona, Aristizábal, Núñez, & Gelmy, s.f.) . The agraz has great commercialization potential in Colombia, because being a wild tree it adapts more easily to any production land and also this fruit in the market is cheaper than the other varieties of berries existing in the market, since the agraz, being a wild fruit, requires less agronomic care, while the others require more investment for the production of a quality product for the final customer. (Alphonse, 2017). Taking into account the above, in this feasibility study an operational and financial idea will be evaluated based on the commercialization of agraz in La Ceja, Antioquia, a product that has a high potential for national consumption and has been included in the list of species attractive for foreign markets (Ligarreto M, 2009, p.9).eng
