| spa |

dc.description.abstractenglish | Phycoperiphyton has a fundamental role in the dynamic of lotic ecosystems. They oxygenate the water, and they are a significant food source in food chain. This study aimed at identifying changes on the structure of the phycoperiphyton community in Nare (ACNARE), Nusito (AECNUSI) and San Lorenzo (ACSLOR) rivers, tributaries to the San Lorenzo dam, and Guatape (RG2) and San Carlos (RSC1) rivers, tributaries to the Punchiná dam, based on biological and environmental data generated by monitoring carried out by ISAGEN-UCO agreement. Between 2010-2018, 106 taxa were registered in ACNARE, AECNUSI and ACSLOR sites and 122 taxa in RG2 and RSC1. In all sites, Bacillariophyta and Cyanobacteria divisions contributed the most percentage of the total density. But in 2013 and 2017, the high concentrations of orthophosphates increased the development of cyanobacteria, resulting in a low diversity of the community. In the sampling sites, the density was higher in ACSLOR and AECNUSI, because of their moderate speeds, greater availability, and stability of substrates. On the other hand, RSC1 had lower densities associated to high turbidity and suspended solids, and low quality of substrates. The most persistent genera in all sites and periods were Lyngbya, Oscillatoria, Achnanthes, Navicula and Cymbella, for their ability to adhere to the substrate and their competitive advantages. In general, the composition and density indicated that there was limiting factors for the establishment of many species. | en |
